Downlands Community School is among the top performing state schools in Sussex and has bucked the national trend by seeing another improvement on the 5 A*-C pass rate, including English and Mathematics.
Downlands calculates that the final figure will be in excess of 77 per cent of pupils achieving the top grades with English and Maths.
This is the third year of continued improvement at the Hassocks based secondary school.
Head teacher Rose Hetherton said: “We are all delighted for our pupils. Their success in these exams is down to their hard work and commitment throughout their two years.
“Many thanks must also go our wonderful teachers and support staff for their professionalism and encouragement to enable such high levels of success.”
