A number of libraries in West Sussex are closing for short periods this month to undergo updates and prepare for new self-service machines.
The improvements will modernise the branches’ IT and electrical systems so that touch-screen terminals can be installed later this summer.
Several libraries have already been refurbished - including Pulborough and Southwick which reopened last week.
The others affected by the temporary closures include:
• Arundel Library – which will shut at 1pm on Saturday July 14 and reopen at 9am on Monday July 23.
• Hurstpierpoint Library – which will close on Saturday July 21 from 1pm until Saturday July 28.
• Southwater Library – which will be closed from Saturday 28 July at 1pm until Saturday August 4.
• And Findon Library – which will shut at 1pm on Friday July 20 before reopening with self-service machines fully installed on Monday August 6.
Rustington Library is also set to reopen next week having had new heating and lighting systems as well as new self-service terminals fitted.
Readers will be able to visit the branch from 10am on Monday July 23.
