Maths successes at The Angmering School

The school entered two teams to compete against other schools in this year’s Worthing Maths Feast.

The feast, run by the Further Maths Support Programme, consisted of several rounds, known as courses, of challenging maths problems.

Jamie Dadswell, Eloise Jones, Louis Saunders and Rosie Ward won the main course, scoring an impressive 100 per cent in this problem-solving round.

Hannah Greaney, Colm Quirke, Ollie O’Toole and William Towler came fourth overall in a close competition, where just two points separated second and fourth places, being beaten by teams from Lancing College and Christ’s Hospital.

Meanwhile, the school’s most able year nine and ten students entered the Intermediate UKMT maths challenge and three students have progressed to the next round.

William Towler from year ten achieved a Pink Kangaroo with a score of 95. Jay Alexander and Daniel Welton from year nine were awarded Grey Kangaroos with scores of 89 and 73.
