LANCING library is set to close for a fortnight this week while new self-service machines are installed.
It is the latest branch in West Sussex to get the state-of-the-art terminals and will shut from 6pm on Friday May 4.
Readers can still borrow as many as 20 books or DVDs before the temporary closure or use other nearby branches including Shoreham, Southwick and Worthing.
It will then reopen at 10am on Monday May 21.
West Sussex County Council Deputy Leader Lionel Barnard, who oversees the Library Service, said: “The new self-service machines are an easy and efficient method for loaning items and can be used by everyone.
“We are already seeing the benefits from the new terminals in other libraries.
“People can print off lists of items they have borrowed and make cash payments for overdue books.”
Meanwhile Shoreham Library is set to re-open at 10am on Tuesday May 8 having also installed new self-service machines.
