Duo’s song to feature in Robert Redford film

A man from West Chiltington is part of a duo whose song is set to be featured in the latest Robert Redford film this summer.

The track called ‘Traitors Gate’, which will feature in the film ‘The Company You Keep’, was produced by Tristan Lambeth, from Barkworth Way and Bob Farrell, from Worthing, who make up singing and songwriting double act ‘Nomates5’.

“One of the editors heard it, liked it and used in the background for a scene where Robert Redford and Nick Nolte are in a bar,” explained Tristan who is also in the band Billy Nomates which he started 16 years ago.

The song is described as a ‘depressing rock song’ with the pair’s inspirations including The Rolling Stone, Jeff Beck and The Clash.

“But we’re not a fixed band format with a fixed sound.” added Bob, who plays in Horsham-based band The Flying Tigers.

“We have started changing it up a bit including trance songs which we do from our home-based studio.”

Nomates5 will get a credit on the thriller film which is about a former weather underground activist who goes on the run from a journalist who has discovered his identity.

“It’s a good crack and we’re very excited,” continued Tristan who is the director of West Sussex Timber in Wisborough Green. “One of our songs has also been in a Kenneth Brannagh film amongst others so we’ve got a good résumé and are getting some interest.”
