Police officers were called to a branch of Santander in South Road, Haywards Heath, after an incident involving a disruptive customer.
Shoppers and customers gathered outside the branch, which was closed for a short time, sparking rumours of a raid. However, staff confirmed that the incident had involved a customer.
As the branch re-opened, shortly before 12.30 today (April 2), staff were busy clearing up bank leaflets that had been dropped on the floor during the incident.
Police left the branch without making an arrest.
