A VETERAN of the Second World War will be laid to rest in a military grave on Thursday.
Fred Misselbrook, of Church Walk, Tarring, died aged 89, on December 13, leaving behind his wife, Sheila.
Edwin Cooper, a friend of Mr Misselbrook for the last 15 years, said the ex-serviceman was a generous man.
Mr Cooper, 75, of Hyde Road, Worthing, said: “He was very active in raising money. He used to go around the town in his wheelchair, going into different places to try to raise money for holidays for the disabled. There was always some cause he was trying to do something for.
“Even with his disabilities – he had epilepsy and had a stroke 15 years ago – he was still keen to help people.”
