POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a ‘road rage’ incident in Findon involving the drivers of two cars.

The incident happened on Monday April 9 between noon and 12.20pm on the A24 Broadwater Road in Worthing, continuing up the A24 Horsham Road to Findon.

The cars involved were a blue Ford Galaxy and a silver Ford Fiesta.

It is believed that both vehicles were driving through Worthing before colliding with each other just before the roundabout in Findon on the A24 northbound.

The cars then stopped and it is alleged that the driver of the Galaxy - a 41-year-old man - was threatened with a bat.

The drivers then got into their vehicles, and a further collision occurred between the two.

A police spokesperson said: “We have arrested a 51-year-old man from Worthing on suspicion of criminal damage and a public order offence. He has been interviewed and is currently on police bail pending further enquiries.

“We would like to hear from anyone who either witnessed the incident, or who saw the cars driving in the area before it happened. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101, quoting reference number 0578 of 9 April.”
