An investigation into the cause of a major Bognor Regis fire last night is now underway.

It took 50 firefighters to bring the fire at the Keith Jay Carpets and Furniture store in Bognor town centre under control after it went up in flames shortly after 6pm yesterday (September 16).

Today there is disruption on the roads between Lyon Street West, Bognor, and Sudley Road.

London Road is closed and diversions are in place.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the investigation into the cause of the blaze would start this morning.

Fire crews from across Hampshire and West Sussex were called upon to deal with the blaze.
