Police warning is issued to golfers after equipment is stolen

POLICE issued a warning after golf clubs were stolen in Bognor Regis.

Officers from the Arun district neighbourhood policing team have asked the golfing community to be extra vigilant after golfing equipment was stolen from a local club.

The theft took place sometime between May 20 and 23.

A shed was accessed and a set of Ben Sayers clubs in a black and brown bag were taken along with some waterproof clothing.

A white and red bag that also contained various clubs is also missing.

Police have reminded golf centres to ensure they have adequate security and that all outside buildings are kept securely locked.

Golf clubs have also been previously stolen from vehicles, sheds and garages recently.

Advice to golfers is to not leave their equipment unattended and store it securely at all times.

Anyone with any information on these crimes or those involved in handling the stolen goods should contact Sussex Police
on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
