POLICE are investigating the circumstances of a violent disturbance which broke out after closing time in a quiet residential street in Hurstpierpoint.
The fight started at about 12.30am on Sunday February 12 in Western Road. Police say it is not known at this time what started the incident, but it is believed that a group of four men in their early 20s and a man in his 30s were involved.
During the incident, one man received a deep cut to his head which required hospital treatment.
DC John Hord, of Crawley CID, said: “This was a violent incident which occurred at closing time in a quiet residential street. A live band was playing in the local pub and it’s believed to have been busy in there that night. I am keen to talk to anyone who left the pub around closing time who may have seen or heard anything happen on the road outside. I would urge anyone with information to phone Sussex Police on 101 quoting reference 64 of 12 February.”
