Police investigating a report of a racially aggravated assault in Worthing in the early hours of Saturday December 8 are appealing for witnesses.
At around 2.10am officers received a report of an assault at Bar Next Door in Rowlands Road, Worthing.
A member of staff at the bar reports being assaulted and racially abused as he asked a customer to leave.
The victim did not receive any injuries as a result of the incident.
A 29-year-old man from Worthing was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault.
He was later arrested for possession of class A drugs and criminal damage.
He has been bailed until January 15 2013 pending further enquiries.
PC Dave Slade of West Sussex Response Investigation Team said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or heard an exchange of words during the incident.”
