Police appeal over Broadfield arson

Police are seeking witnesses to an arson in Celandine Close, Broadfield, which broke out just after 9am today (Saturday 14 March).

An empty house was set on fire causing extensive damage and posing a risk to the occupants of the adjoining homes.

Detective Sergeant Peter Yarrow said: “It was as a result of the fire being discovered quickly and the fire crews responding, that a much more serious incident with more damage and possible injuries was averted.

“If you saw anyone acting suspiciously or running from the scene or have any knowledge of who was responsible please contact the police.”
