Police are investigating the theft of a mini-digger and other items from Lurgashall Winery in Lurgashall.

Between 10pm on Wednesday November 14 and 9am on Thursday November 15 a Kubota mini-digger and other power tools were stolen along with specialised machinery for the wine-making business.

The mini-digger did not have a trailer and thieves would have had to bring their own.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw plant machinery being towed on a trailer between 10pm on Wednesday November 14 and 9am the next morning in the area of Lurgashall.

They would also like to hear from anyone who saw vehicles towing an empty trailer into that area that night.

PC Andy Rawlinson of Chichester Neighbourhood Response Team said: “I would also ask that any homeowners or business owners with premises on the approach roads to Lurgashall, who have a CCTV system with a camera covering the roadway, to contact me.”

Any witness or anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting serial 0270 of 15/11. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
