Man charged with attempted murder in Crawley

A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident at a house in Crawley, police say.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of an assault in Ross Close, Tilgate, at 5.40pm on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, a 51-year-old man, was taken to East Surrey Hospital.

A statement from Sussex Police said: “Jason Halliday, 45, of Ross Close, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly attacking a man who was known to him.

“Halliday appeared at Crawley Magistrates Court on Friday and has been remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on November 13.”
