Officers said the 33-year-old was walking along Guildford Road when a silver Mercedes-Benz car pulled up alongside him near the junction of Blackbridge Lane at about 3.50pm on Saturday (October 1).

A spokesman for Sussex Police said two men jumped out of the vehicle and attacked him before driving off.
