POLICE arrested a man minutes after a stabbing at a Crawley address.
Emergency services were called to Byrd Road, off Bewbush Drive, at 8pm yesterday (Wednesday March 7), after a 46-year old man had been stabbed several times in the ground floor hallway of a block of flats.
The man had serious injuries to the back of his head and was taken to East Surrey Hospital at Redhill where he is still receiving treatment, although his injuries are not assessed as life threatening. Nobody else was injured.
Detective Inspector Rob Walker said; “Officers at the scene arrested a 46-year old man on suspicion of causing grevious bodily harm, and he is currently in custody for interview. They also seized a knife believed to have been used in the attack. The enquiry is in its early stages and the motive for the attack has not yet been established.”
