HM Courts Service: Results list for October 31 to November 4, 2016

The following are the latest results contributed by HM Courts Service, for cases sentenced by West Sussex Magistrates' Court sitting at Worthing and South East Hampshire Magistrates' Court sitting at Portsmouth from October 31 to November 4, 2016.

Carl Rota, 55, of Priory Road, Rustington, was given a community order with Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and must carry out 80 hours’ unpaid work after admitting harassment, breaching a restraining order, in Rustington on September 19, 2016; and harassment, breaching a restraining order, in Rustington on September 16, 2016. He must pay £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He also admitted breaching a conditional discharge order, no action taken.

Brendon Stephens, 22, of Epsom Gardens, Rustington, was discharged conditionally for 18 months and must pay a total of £235.43 compensation, £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs, after admitting dishonestly making off without paying for petrol worth £19.47 in Littlehampton on September 28, 2016; dishonestly making off without paying for petrol worth £15.07 in Littlehampton on September 30, 2016; dishonestly making off without paying for petrol worth £20 in Littlehampton on October 7, 2016; dishonestly making off without paying for petrol worth £21.49 in Littlehampton on October 12, 2016; dishonestly making off without paying for petrol worth £48.12 in Worthing on October 13, 2016; and dishonestly making off without paying for petrol worth £15.06 in Littlehampton on October 6, 2016. Five other offences were taken into consideration.

Steven Harrison, 29, of Turner Road, Worthing, was fined £200 and must pay £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting failing to promptly notify the Department of Work and Pensions about a change affecting Employment and Support Allowance, namely capital in excess of the permitted limit, in Worthing between April 30, 2015, and January 1, 2016.

Jamie Wilkinson, 22, of Byron Road, Worthing, must pay £500 compensation after admitting causing £500 damage to the iVita PC shop window in Worthing on August 14, 2016. He must pay £200 compensation after admitting stealing a £200 pedal cycle from McColls Store, The Strand, Goring, on October 12, 2016. He also admitted breaching a conditional discharge order, no action taken.
