The defender, 22, is a regular member of the Wales U21 team along with fellow Crawley player Gwion Edwards and has been drafted in to the Wales party for this weekend’s European Championship qualifiers against Cyprus and Bosnia Herzegovina.

He will link up with Chris Coleman’s squad this morning (Tuesday).

Manager John Gregory said: “I am absolutely delighted for Joe. Since I came to the club he has worked hard to improve all aspects of his game and having had a good grounding in their under-21s it’s great to see him get the chance in the full Wales squad.

“We are obviously going to miss him for our next two games but we wish him all the best and I’m sure all Crawley Town fans will echo those sentiments.”

It will be Joe’s first taste of the senior squad and he has been called up after James Collins withdrew because of injury.

Wales face Bosnia at the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday and Cyprus at the same venue three days later, both kick-off at 7.45pm.
