A retired man from Storrington who harassed his neighbours has been made subject of a 12 month Restraining Order.

He was also ordered to pay a £400 fine, as well as a victim surcharge of £40 and costs of £85 when he appeared at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (July 15).

Rex Northover, 67, of Sanctuary Lane, pleaded guilty to an offence of harassment without violence.

Northover was arrested by police following an investigation into claims he had harassed two of his neighbours by continuously staring into their home and beeping his car horn. The final incident, following a three-year campaign where the victims suffered in silence involved Northover homophobically abusing one of them in public.
