Work has started to try to put an end to people parking on grass verges.
A set of solutions called ‘alternative interventions’ are being considered by Crawley Borough Council, which include the installation of fencing and street furniture.
Two pilot projects were selected – one in Crossways Close, in Three Bridges, and one at St Francis School, in Southgate.
Fencing has already started to go up around grass verges near the school.
Cllr Ken Trussell, Cabinet member for the environment, said: “These pilot schemes in Southgate and Three Bridges will allow us to test the effectiveness of the alternative intervention solutions.
“If successful these measures could then be rolled out to other areas.
“We will continue to press hard for enforceable actions to be introduced to complement this initiative.”
