VIDEO: Traffic chaos in Broadwater as Morrisons lorry gets stuck
A MORRISONS lorry became stuck on Broadwater Bridge last night (Monday, March 11) as snow caused chaos on Worthing’s roads.
The lorry, which was making a delivery to the Morrisons store in Newland Street, Worthing, got stuck after having to stop behind a bus, which was dropping off passengers.
The incident happened at around 7pm and when police attended the scene, they were able to temporarily halt traffic going over the bridge so the lorry driver could reverse and drive off.
Meanwhile, residents of Chapel Road were out on the bridge helping to push cars, which were getting stuck, up the hill.
Samantha Harris, 28, of Chapel Road, said: “I live in the flats and was watching out of the window. The driver seemed to be the only one helping so me and my neighbours made him some tea and then helped him.”
