MORE than 130 athletes took part in the Shoreham River Swim Race this morning.
Men and women competed at 3.5km and 2.5km distances, starting at Adur Outdoor Activities Centre at 11am.
The longer distance swimmers headed towards Adur Ferry Bridge then back to the Old Toll Bridge, before returning to the centre for a run to the finish line.
The fastest times yet were recorded in the race, organised by Raw Energy Pursuits, with 17-year-old Chloe Pollard from Eastbourne finishing way ahead of the pack in 41m 49s, winning in the 3.5km race.
Chris Sutton from London, a member of Otter Swimming Club, won the 2.5km race.
The race is part of Shoreham RiverFest, which runs until Monday.
