VIDEO: Neurological rehabilitation team’s successful first year
A specialist team which supports those with neurological conditions is assuring people their service will continue into next year.
The Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team North (CNRTN) were founded in April 2012 and have provided a specialist service for the Horsham, Mid Sussex and Crawley area.
The 25-strong team is made up of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, speech and language therapists, psychologists, dieticians, rehabilitation support workers and a psychologist.
Based in Horsham Hospital, the team visit patients at home within three days of discharge and put together a carefully structured plan to enable them to reach their full recovery potential.
“In the same way we also support people who are already living in the community with progressive motor neurological illnesses like Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s and Motor Neurone disease,” explained Viv Cooper, CNRTN’s team leader.
