DEMOLITION work has begun on the old Citizens Advice Bureau buildings in Shoreham.
Lee Pollard, director of JG and JR Langridge, is project manager on site as work begins on the new-look Shoreham Centre, in Pond Road.
Adur District Council leader Neil Parkin and strategic director Andrew Gardiner met with Clare Mannsaker, business development manager for central and south Sussex Citizens Advice Bureau, to see work begin this morning, and hear the final plans for the new extension.
Mr Parkin said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have started work here today.”
The portable buildings that housed the Shoreham CAB Advice Centre will be completely demolished before work begins on the extension at the end of May.
The new extension will be the council’s new civic presence, as well as new CAB offices and accommodation for 4SIGHT and Adur Talking News.
There will also be improved facilities for the Shoreham Centre, including a new central atrium, better bar facilities and alterations to the café.
