UK Border Agency raid at Crawley restaurant

The UK Border Agency raided Charlie Choy’s restaurant yesterday (Thursday February 21).

Around ten agency members and police officers stormed the eatery in Crawley Leisure Park just after 5pm in response to information about illegal immigrants.

Six diners and a large party of children witnessed the speedy operation.

Around 17 members of restaurant staff were rallied together from the kitchens and sat around tables for questioning.

After 20 minutes, nine members of staff were taken aside for further questioning while the others were allowed to go back to work.

Six men were arrested in relation to immigration offences.

More to follow.
