Teenage woman sexually assaulted in Chichester

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted as she walked towards Chichester railway station.

The victim was walking along the cycle path from the direction of the Waitrose supermarket at 12.30pm on Sunday (October 21), she was approached by a man who asked her for the time.

As she looked at her watch, the man sexually assaulted her by touching. She immediately ran off.

The suspect is described as 6ft 2in, large and slightly overweight, with short dark brown hair with a receding hairline.

He was wearing jeans, a light blue t-shirt and possibly a denim jacket. He maybe eastern European.

PC Ben Hitchman said: “The victim was not hurt but shaken by the incident. Anyone with information or may have witnessed it, should ring Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 0862 of 21 October.”
