Staff member threatened during Worthing phone shop robbery
Police are investigating the death of a man in Rowner
Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery at a mobile phone and internet shop on Rowlands Road, Worthing yesterday (Monday October 15).
Two men entered the Surfs Up Communications Shop at 10am and spoke to the member of staff, requesting to look at one of the phones on display.
One of the men threatened the member of staff and brandished a metal weapon.
Both men then ran from the shop with one phone, a Samsung Galaxy, and made off on bicyles along Rowlands Road and along Byron Road.
Both suspects are described as black and in their early 20s. One male was wearing a thick grey hooded top and the other wearing a black jacket and a dark colourered hat.
Detective Sergeant Colin O’Hare said: “Anybody with information of who committed this robbery or saw anything, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting serial 0392 of the 15/10 or to the indepedent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
