St George’s Parade set to march through town again
A St George’s Day parade is set to march through town again after last year’s success.
Hundreds turned out in April 2012 to see Crawley’s first St George’s Day parade.
The march will be held on Sunday April 21 and will start at the entrance to County Mall, walk through town via The Boulevard and the High Street and finish at the Band Stand in Queens Square for live entertainment.
Laura Moffatt, former Crawley MP and chair of the St George’s Day Cultural Parade Society, said: “It has taken a long time for Crawley to have its own St George’s Day Parade and it needs much more work to keep it going, so come and join us as we need more people to help plan the Parade, more people to help with admin and media and more people to help on the day.”
She praised the Scouts, Crawley College, Crawley Campaign Against Racism and Crawley Borough Council for their support and called on businesses to provide sponsorship.
Organisations interested in sponsoring the Parade can contact Laura Moffatt on 01293 530 585.
