Another bout of severe wet weather is set to batter West Sussex this weekend according to the Met Office.
On Friday January 3 heavy wind and rain is expected for much of the country, while for Sunday January 5 a yellow severe weather warning has been issued for West Sussex.
Rainfall of between 10 and 20mm is expected on Sunday, but it could be as high as 40mm.
Given recent wet weather the Met Office is warning the public of an increased risk of both flooding and surface water.
According to the chief forecaster’s assessment: “Another spell of wet and windy weather will affect the British Isles on Sunday as a new, deep depression becomes anchored over the eastern Atlantic Ocean.
“The associated frontal system is then expected to move eastwards across Britain, perhaps not clearing the far east and south east until Monday morning.”
