PUPILS at Whytemead First School have been celebrating the Winter Olympic Games.
Classes at the school, in Dominion Road, East Worthing, watched the opening ceremony’s live broadcast and tried out some of the sports during PE lessons, including their own takes on snowboarding, the luge and bobsleighing.
Pupils also used giant wooden skis to slalom down the hall, took part in ‘ice hockey’ event and competed in inter-house curling, which was won by Woodpecker House.
PE co-ordinator Judith Firth said: “Each class visited other year groups and took part in a range of cross-curricular activities related to the winter games.
“Activities included designing your own winter outfits, learning about Russia, winter art, creating winter sports motifs and designing a Winter Olympic park.”
