A ball held at Arundel Town Hall raised more than £5,000 and VOP was a beneficiary.

Mr Stewart visited VOP’s Rustington studio to be interviewed about the donation and his mayoral year.

VOP director Charles Waring said: “We can now get out and about and interview people in high quality stereo sound. It is a real enhancement to the quality of recordings we produce.”

The interview can be heard at voiceofprogress.co.uk until May 24.
