This week debate has raged over the green waste charge agreed before Christmas by Horsham District Council, but would you pay more council tax to offset the charge?

In the second of our weekend debates, that’s what we want to know.

The Conservative-led administration agreed by majority on Wednesday to freeze council tax and increase parking charges.

Conservative members said this, along with the green waste charge agreed before Christmas was necessary to balance the books in these tough financial times.

Liberal Democrats and Independent members, though, disagree and would have like to seen all members consider seriously an increase in council tax, particularly because, compared with other authorities Horsham has a very low rate.

A figure of up to £5 a year was discussed, but what do you think? Leave your comments below and if you’re reading this on a PC, laptop or tablet, vote in our poll to the right.
