Police appeal after Crawley burglaries
Police are appealing for witnesses to two burglaries in Crawley overnight on Tuesday (February 5).
A Blackberry mobile phone and £20 was stolen from Winter Gardens between 10.30pm and 7.45am. Access was gained through the back door. Two bags were also taken and found dumped nearby.
And £70 and items from a jewellery box, including a distinctive necklace with the letters NAWC engraved on it, were stolen from Burns Road between 11pm and 12.20am. Access was gained via the front door.
Chief Inspector Justina Beeken said: “We would also urge residents to always make sure their doors and windows are always secure, and that keys are not hooked up near a door or window making it easy for suspects to gain access.”
Detective Constable Chris Mills added: “Anyone who saw anything suspicious in these areas is asked to contact police on 101 quoting serial 0160 of 6/2 for Winter Gardens or serial 0182 of 6/2 for Burns Road.”
