Mother attacked by cyclist
A woman was attacked by a cyclist as she drove her three children to school last week.
Sussex Police said the cyclist opened the door of her black 4x4 and pulled her out in front of her children.
She was driving along the Balcombe Road, Horley, at around 8.30am on Thursday (March 7) when the cyclist pulled up to her car.
He also punched and damaged her wing-mirror before cycling off.
Detective Constable Errol Chetty. Reigate CID, said: “I believe that there were several witnesses to either the assault or the events leading up to it and I need these people to make contact and help me find the person responsible.
“The offender carried out the assault not only in front of the woman’s three children but there were other schoolchildren in the vicinity at the time and we simply will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and we will do all we can to find the person responsible.”
The victim, in her 30s, was not hurt during the incident but was left shaken and upset.
The offender was described as white, mid 40s, blonde to brown hair with a goatee beard. He was around 5ft 10ins and of skinny build. He was wearing black cycling shorts, a bight yellow vest and a white cycle helmet. He was riding a red and black racer bike with white wheels.
