Man arrested on suspicion of Horsham rape released without charge

A man who was arrested on suspicion of rape in Horsham last year has been released without charge, police have said.

At the time police said they were investigating an attack on a 22-year-old woman on a footpath near St Mary’s Church on Sunday August 16.

A man, then 19, was arrested on suspicion of rape on August 29 and was released on bail until October.

He was rebailed until June 21 whilst enquiries continued.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “A 20-year-old man from Horsham who was arrested on suspicion of rape in August 2015 and bailed has been released without charge.”
