Macbeth with a modern twist
Students will show-off their technical knowledge when they showcase a Shakespearean play with a modern twist.
Eighty students from St Wilfrid’s School, in Old Horsham Road, Crawley, will put on a contemporary production of Macbeth this march.
Director James Hadden said the ‘superb actors’, from years seven to year 13, have an ‘infallible’ understanding of the complicated language. He said: The two main roles of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth have obviously had a huge challenge with the sheer amount of lines to learn but both year 13 students have done an immense job and their performances are stunning.”
Mr Hadden added: “I have also been keen to use media within a school production and to underpin the urban setting we are including the use of an array of cameras relaying a live feed of the action on stage to emulate CCTV cameras in our urban environments. It is going to be very complicated with live camera feeds and pre-recorded sections being displayed across the video and screens and 10 television built into the set.”
The show will take place from March 7 -9. For more information visit www.stwilfrids.com/st-wilfrids-present-macbeth
