Haywards Heath Lions have sponsored the installation of a defibrillator at Warden Park Secondary Academy in Cuckfield and funded the initial training session for 10 staff.

Representatives from the Haywards Heath Lions officially handed over the life-saving equipment recently after the Burgess Hill branch donated similar equipment to Oakmeeds Community College in the town.

A spokesman for the academy said: “They first donated the defibrillator and then funded the initial training for 10 of our staff to use the equipment.

“They are also paying for the purchase of an alarmed cabinet in which to keep the equipment.

“We are hoping that this is the beginning of a continuing relationship between Warden Park and the Haywards Heath Lions and that we will be able to work on future projects together for our young people.”
