Lead theft and burgarly warning in Mid Sussex

Police are warning people to be vigilant after a break-in and a theft of lead from a roof in Mid Sussex.

Between 6.30pm on Tuesday (March 19) and 8.45am on Wednesday (March 20) lead was stripped off the roof of an unoccupied bungalow on London Road, Sayers Common.

The garage at the property was also entered and alloy wheels and a car exhaust were stolen.

Sussex Poloice say: “Please be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to Sussex Police”.

There has also been a break-in to a property on Hurstwood Lane, Haywards Heath, on Tuesday (March 19), between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

Jewellery, cash and a laptop were stolen. Entry was gained via French doors at the back of the property.

The police appeal to householders to make sure your property is locked and secure. Report any suspicious behavior to Sussex Police.
