VOLUNTEERS are hard at work at Shoreham Fort, installing a Nissen hut.
The Friends of Shoreham Fort are working today and tomorrow to put up the hut on the same site where one previously stood.
Pop along tomorrow to see their progress and join in some fun activities at the site, off Fort Haven on Shoreham Beach.
East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton will be heading a volunteer recruitment drive from 11am to 4.30pm tomorrow and there will be a barbecue.
The Royal Sussex Living History Group will also be on site, with the gun rack, and there will be tours available throughout.
On Monday, Vevo Vision, a double glazing firm based in Dominion Way, Worthing, will be installing doors.
Friends secretary Sharon Penfold said the firm had donated the doors and agreed to install them.
“They are doing it all free of charge, which is amazing,” she added.
The Nissen hut will be turned into an education room for Shoreham Fort.
See Thursday’s Shoreham Herald to find out more about the hut’s progress.
