The M23 near Pease Pottage was closed earlier this afternoon (Friday January 3) due to a fallen tree.

A single lane on the carriageway was open southbound between junction 10a B2036 Balcombe Road and junction 11, A23 (Pease Pottage) as work to clear the tree was carried out.

However, the whole carriageway was shut around 3pm for a short time.

The tree has now been cleared and all the lanes are now re-opened.
