For the first time Southwater Country Park will be open to visitors on Boxing Day.

The park and its facilities, which are owned by Horsham District Council, including the visitor centre and the brand new lakeside cafe, will open its doors to visitors from 10am-4pm over the whole Christmas season except for Christmas Day.

It has three miles of surfaced walks, a park and children’s adventure play area, while the long distance Downs Link runs through the park for cyclists and long-distance walkers.

Jonathan Chowen, HDC’s cabinet member for arts, heritage and leisure, said: “This is a great opportunity for visitors to get out and about during the festive season and work off some of that Christmas food.

“There’s so much on offer at Southwater Country Park and best of all, it’s free!”
