A SHOREHAM pageant director who recently set up a coaching business has seen success for three of her students.
They scooped the top three titles at Miss GlitzMania in Essex earlier this month.
Sara Collins, 44, who runs Sara’s Stars, has been coaching the girls to take part in pageants for less than a year.
Her daughter, Ella Collins-Godden, 14, along with Summer Pearson, 11, from Patcham, and Darla-Marie Smith, three, from Hastings, competed against 30 girls from all over the UK on Sunday, June 1.
They took part in three rounds - formal wear, outfit of choice and British wear.
“British pageants are nothing like those portrayed on American TV,” said Sara. “We focus on the child’s confidence, personality and enthusiasm.
“Summer has been competing only since February and is doing really well.
“Darla started competing last summer, and I see huge potential with her. She is definitely one to watch.
“And Ella, my daughter, is a star, in my eyes. There is a lot of focus on charity and community work in the pageant community, and the girls have raised over £2,500 between them for local charities.”
She said the Miss GlitzMania results were ‘overwhelming’, with Summer in third place, winning Mini Supreme, Ella second, winning Grand Supreme, and Darla-Marie first, winning Ultimate Grand Supreme.
“I am so proud of my girls!” Sara said.
On June 14, Ella and Summer took part in a pageant in Cheltenham, and both won Grand Supreme titles in their age divisions.
