A FINAL decision has been made on what land will be put on sale for housing at the Southlands Hospital site.
Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has identified a 2.19 hectares area, to include the Harness Block, Beeding House and peripheral buildings in Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham.
That leaves the out-patient buildings fronting Hammy Lane, which will be retained for health services, and an area behind for parking.
The trust board of directors was asked to note a report from Karen Geoghegan, director of finance, at its meeting on Thursday, which outlined the optioned considered and the reasons for the decision.
Outline planning permission will be sought for 113 homes and if that is granted, the land will then be sold with planning consent for a residential scheme.
The aim is to achieve this by March next year, to ensure there is no financial disadvantage to the trust.
