GRANTS for events across Adur and Worthing this summer have been provided by councils’ regeneration team.

There is a limited amount of funding left, so more applications for ‘new and exciting’ events due to take place from September to March are invited.

Projects that have already benefited include Adur World Oceans Day, Riverfest in Shoreham, Adur Arts Trail, Art on the Pier in Worthing, the Worthing Community Play, Worthing Food and Drink Festival, Worthing Arts Trail and the WOW Festival.

Wendy Francis, from the regeneration team, said: “Grants are limited to new events which are specifically aimed at raising the profile and visitor numbers to our increasingly popular and vibrant area and how this will be achieved must be demonstrated in the application.

“As well as some financial assistance, we are also happy to provide advice on planning, organising and publicising events.”

There is another small pot of funding available to help with commemorative events, exhibitions and research projects being organised in Adur and Worthing to mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War.

Email Wendy Francis ar wendy.francis@adur-worthing.gov.uk for an application form.
