Students at Holy Trinity Church of England School are celebrating after 68 per cent of them gained five or more GCSEs at grade C or above.
Nearly half of the year group achieved eight or more A* to C grades and 43 per cent gained nine or more A* to C grades.
Headteacher Paul Kennedy said: “I am delighted that the hard work and dedication of our staff and young people has resulted in such excellent outcomes on a very difficult landscape for our young people.
“Our results reflect the national picture today with Ofqual warning that things will look ‘different’.
“I could not have asked for more effort from our students and they deserve the success they have achieved today.”
