TWO local choirs are giving free concerts for the 2014 Steyning Festival.

Cantatrice will perform on Friday, May 30, at the Steyning Centre, 12.15pm to 1pm, while Kaleidoscope Singers perform on Thursday, June 5, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Penlands, Steyning, 8pm to 9pm. There will be a retiring collection at both concerts.

The lunchtime concert will feature the upbeat Jazz Mass by Bob Chilcott, mixed with Gospel and African music.

Cantatrice is conducted by Zoe Peate and joined by Steve Dummer and young musicians Will Duerden on bass and Ian Tyers on drums.

The evening concert will feature madrigals, sacred music and Stephen Foster arrangements, and includes a string ensemble and Hannah Corcoran on saxophone.
