THE Ropetackle Film Club seeks to continue improving as it prepares for its third season.

Each season ten films are shown between September and June at the Ropetackle Arts Centre, in Little High Street, Shoreham.

Sandra Reeves, film club committee member, said: “When we started the film club two seasons ago, we were definitely the new kids on the block but now, as we prepare for our third season, we would like to think that we could be called successfully established.

“The committee are still dedicated and passionate about the club and continue to push forward with more options for film, for both our members and their guests.”

The group meets on the second Thursday of every month.

Current members are being offered the opportunity to renew their season tickets before membership opens to the general public on May 8.

Subscription to the club costs £25, but guest tickets may be available on the evening of a screening for £5.

The club’s current season is drawing to a close with only three screenings left – Story of the Weeping Camel, on May 8, It Happened One Night, on June 12, and 12 Years a Slave, on May 28 – the latter of which is this year’s film club blockbuster.

“If you are new to the area this is a great way to meet people and become part of the community, the atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and happy,” said Sandra.

“We have already plans for August 2015 when we hope to offer a Film Festival weekend, which we are very excited about.”

On Wednesday, July 2, Richard Durrant will introduce Across The Universe – a romantic drama made in 2007 centred on songs by the Beatles.
