WICK Theatre Company is preparing for its 250th production and to celebrate, an exhibition is being held in Southwick.

For more than 60 years, the company has been at the heart of the Southwick community.

It was pivotal in the creation of Southwick Community Centre’s Barn Theatre and has performed there ever since.

Celebrating the company’s rich and varied history, the exhibition will be at the Manor Cottage Heritage Centre, in Southwick Street.

It opens on Saturday and runs until September 27, revisiting past shows through original production photographs, programmes, press cuttings and both visual and oral reminiscences of company members.

Amanda Evans, who has devised and curated the exhibition, invites people to take a trip down memory lane and relive highlights of Wick Theatre’s past 66 years.

The exhibition is open on Saturday mornings, 10.30am to 12.30pm, with an extended opening until 4pm on September `13. Entrance is free.

The 250th production, Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard, will be performed at the Barn Theatre from September 24 to 27 at 7.45pm daily. Tickets are £11 from the box office, on 01273 597094.
