Crawley has won another gold at the South and South East in Bloom Awards.
At a ceremony in Tunbridge Wells today (Wednesday September 11), the town picked up a gold award in the small city category against competition from Canterbury, Fareham and Gosport,
Fareham was named category winner.
This award adds to the town’s success over the past few years, which has seen Crawley win gold at the 2012 South and South East in Bloom Awards (small city), high gold standard in the 2011 South and South East in Bloom Champion of Champions Awards, silver Gilt and Category Winner (large town/small city) accolades at the 2010 Britain in Bloom Awards, the Britain in Bloom 2010 Community Award for Let’s FACE it!, gold and category winner prizes (large town/small city) at the 2010 South and South East in Bloom Awards and gold and category winner prizes (town centre and large town/small city) at the 2009 South and South East in Bloom Awards.
In addition to the gold award, community groups were again successful.
Residents in Boswell Road, Tilgate, Bolney Court in Bewbush and Three Bridges Forum competed against each other in the Champion of Champions section of the It’s Your neighbourhood Awards.
All received certificates and Boswell Road received a Certificate of National recognition.
The 7th Crawley Beavers, Bewbush Action Group and Staplecross Court in Bewbush were all awarded level 4 ‘thriving’ in the It’s Your neighbourhood Awards.
